Supporting the start-up rate, survival and growth of our local businesses remains a priority for the Council involving a number of small teams to provide dedicated business support and practical advice. Business Gateway is the council’s dedicated small business support group looking to help grow local businesses with high growth potential through the pipeline.

Business Gateway is there to support businesses investing in Argyll and Bute. They offer advice, in confidence, to anyone wanting to start up or develop a business. They can provide a wealth of information and support, tailored to each business and their needs.

One to one support from experienced business advisers

Local Business Advisors are qualified, experienced business mentors; and have all spent time in the commercial world, so can relate to the needs of each business.

Specialist advice

Business Gateway can link businesses up with one of their network of subject experts for help with specific HR, finance, marketing, growth strategy, digital or procurement issues that can impact business.

Information and guides

Business Gateway have access to a wide range of guides and video tutorials. They can also provide market information tailored to suit businesses or sector needs to help investment decisions.

Signposting funding

We have a wide knowledge of the grant and loan funding available nationally and locally. The team can signpost relevant available sources of funding for your business.
